Description
Our evening routine is a simple calendar, designed to make evening and time to sleep easier to manage. The calendar has space up to five symbols, and comes with twelve commonly used activity symbols. It serves as a visual reminder to the individual, without the need for verbal intervention. It is suitable for both sexes. If the individual can display the activities for themselves and understand what will happen without having to rely on others, it promotes understanding and a sense of independence. This can reduce the stress and behaviors associated with the aftermath. We only use the high quality "Picture Communication Symbols" (PCS) by Mayer-Johnson (used with permission). These are the most common visual symbols that will be used to support the learning and development of those with learning disabilities, and therefore will be the easiest for people to understand and implement begin. Many people find it easier in the long run to use these images rather than photos, as it is easier to generalize between situations and settings. This table can also be used with your existing PECs library. This product, like all of our products, has been inspired by some of the difficulties we have experienced raising our own autistic son over the years, and includes a large number of strategies that have helped him cope with some of the challenges that everyday life can bring.
