Surprisingly faithful to the arcade game, Venture for the Intellivision is a delightful port of Exidy's cult-classic coin-op. As with the ColecoVision edition, Venture for the Intellivision livens things up with some jaunty music during play (though it's obvious that the designers didn't utilize the Intellivision's full music capability). Control using the joypads is actually quite slick, affording an ease of movement that comes in very handy in such rooms as the "expanding wall" room. Though Venture was always a simple game that didn't require a lot of graphics horsepower to bring home (even the Atari VCS version is decent), it looks and plays great on the Intellivision. It's a little hard to locate, but -- as with the many treasures hidden throughout the game's mazes -- worth the search.
