Set of 2 paperback journals featuring Fringe Found Artwork with contrast saddlestitching, tied together with twine and hangtag. Fringe Found Art Note JOLIE (blue & cream journal) A late 19th century French textile painting redrawn by Fringe artists. The large original painting is 24" x 29," and is a vibrant watercolor painted on very thin paper. The art is filled with thick vines, which are decorated with exaggerated leaves and stylized French flowers. A Fringe artist has redrawn the art and simplified the forms to reflect a more modern sensibility. The result is a light and classic one-color version of the antique art. DITSY BERRY (yellow floral journal) A small and delicate gouache painting, most likely created in the early 20th century. Very little has changed in this Fringe update from the original version. Fringe designers retouched the worn, muddy areas and created a new feminine color way, retaining all the vintage charm of the original.
