Newer Dishwashers have a spring built into the door that helps to close the door. Older dishwashers do not have that spring and the door would fall open. This Device is designed to used with Newer Dishwashers to prevent the door from fully closing so the inside will dry out. It will not work on older dishwashers where the door falls open as the device does not hold onto the door, it prevents the door from closing.
