Sick of having to set your string action high to quiet your guitar's fret buzz? You're not alone... Most guitars have frets that are a few 1/1000's an inch high when compared with their adjacent frets. You can make your guitar play better in a few quick steps:
Step 1 - Use a Fret Rocker to identify high frets
Step 2 - Adjust the neck to a flat position, then sand or file the offending frets level.
Step 3 - Recrown and polish your frets.
There is no better way to take care of Step 2 in this process than using a SkyScraper Guitars notched straight edge so you can confirm your truss rod has been adjusted so the neck is in a dead flat position. Use our Fret Rockers and Sanding Beams to complete the other steps in this process.
Our straight edges are made of 3/16" thick aircraft grade aluminum and feature beveled edges. The material costs more than the thin strapping competitors use but we believe it is worth it to ensure a long life for the tool. The contact surface of each straight edge are hand lapped on a machinist's surface plate and they are brought up through abrasive grits until they are flat within .0005" per foot of length. This level of precision will ensure that your fret work is as precise as humanly possible. Once our tools are lapped perfectly flat, they are hard anodized to ensure they will provide a lifetime of service to their owners.
Quit wasting your time playing a poorly set up instrument. Make your guitar worthy of Rock Star Status!!!
