This converter is compatible with RS-232C and RS-485 standards. It converts single-ended PS-232 signals into balanced RS-485 differential signals and extends the communication distance to 1.2 km. The converter is passive and does not require an external power supply. It uses a special current pump technology to draw power from RS-232 signals (RTS, DTR, TXD) without prior initialization of the RS-232 interface. Internal transceivers and special circuits automatically control the direction of the data stream without the need for handshake signals (such as RTS, DTR). If the software works in RS-232 half-duplex mode, it can maintain the same function in RS-485 mode without modification. The baud rate of 300-115200 bps can be applied to communication between the master computers, the master computer and external devices, and can form a point-to-point, point-to-multipoint communication network.
