NOISE ELIMINATING: A switchable ground lift prevents current from flowing between the DI and the microphone preamplifier along the shielding, breaking the ground loop and eliminating this noise. It also reduces the noise from using long wires and cords.
PREVENT EXCESSIVE GAIN: The direct box comes with switchable pad (-12 dB) to prevent excessive gain from overloading the circuitry to accommodate the high output of active pickups and unbalanced line-level equipment such as keyboards and electronic instruments.
