Catrpilr mutes reduce volume while promoting healthy intonation and bow control. A low profile, light-weight design reduces player fatigue while allowing clear line of sight to the fingerboard. Unlike other flexible mutes, the Catrpilr is made of a synthetic material that cannot smudge or stain the bridge. Magnetic clamping feet wrapped in a soft outer shell secure the mute in place. Compared to metal practice mutes, the Catrpilr cannot fall off or scrape the bridge and the profile is low enough that the mute can safely be left on even when the instrument is in a case. Model v1.1.2020. Patent Pending. Made in USA. Please visit the manufacturer website for detailed mounting instructions. Do not attempt to mount the catrpilr like other traditional push-on mutes. The catrpilr is designed to be mounted using one hand while the instrument is held between the chin and shoulder. First attach the middle foot to the bridge and then work your way outwards. The outside feet have a small catch on the back that is designed to be used to hook the outer feet around the bridge.
