The Aiphone IF-DA surface-mount door station works with an IE, TC-M, TD-H, or AX Series master intercom (sold separately) to enable audio communication with visitors. The station is powered by the system's central exchange unit (sold separately). Maximum wiring distance is 980 feet using Cat-5e wire. The housing is brown plastic, and it surface mounts to a single-gang box. Overall dimensions are 5-1/8 x 3-7/8 x 1-1/8 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.)
Door intercom systems allow an occupant of a building to communicate remotely with a visitor through at least one door intercom and master intercom. Master intercoms with a door-access button remotely unlock the door for the visitor.
