I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, teacher, artist and maker. I live in Colombia, South America, in a little rural town up in the mountains where I share my home with my lovely mixed dog, two hyperactive old cats and my human boyfriend. I started my journey as an illustrator after more than 10 years of working as an in-house graphic designer for fashion companies and freelancing for silkscreen printing studios. The knowledge I gained from working in the textile arena has helped me create my particular style and is visible in my sophisticated yet playful sense of color and understanding of global trends. My painterly illustrations are a balanced mix of traditional and digital mediums, ranging from watercolors, gouache, acrylics and collage to Illustrator, Photoshop and Procreate. Working in both worlds brings me a sense of freedom and joyous exploration that is tangible in my designs. My artwork is often inspired by the exotic and magical tropical land I live in, making it both alluring and enchanting. Most days, you can find me in my studio splashing paint on handmade journals. My interests are diverse and encompass a wide variety of creative projects like doll making, embroidery, bookbinding, mixed media painting, collaging and art journaling. When I'm not in my studio, I enjoy riding my bicycle through the mountains, watching horror movies while hiding under the cushions and discussing worldly matters with my cat.
