A Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) module is a semiconductor-based Peltier thermoelectric device that functions as a small electric generator. By applying heat on one side and cold on the other side, the device will generate a voltage whose amplitude depends upon the temperature differential between the two sides of the device.
Specifications

Operating Temperature: -30C to +120C DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM OPERATING TEMPERATURE
Fitted with 12-inch (approx.) insulated leads
The side with words is the side to be cooled, and the other side (without lettering) is the heated side.
To achieve maximum voltage and current output, the cold side of the device must be attached to a heatsink, cold plate or chiller in order to remove the heat from it. Without adequate cooling, the device will heat up quickly, output power will decrease, and the device will fail if allowed to overheat.
As with all TEGs and TECs, this device must be mounted to a heatsink before applying heat to it. Failure to do so may result in device failure.
