The deck starts by casting a number of efficiently-costed spiders with powerful secondary abilities including Mirkwood Spider (deathtouch), Deadly Recluse (reach, deathtouch), Twin-Silk Spider (reach, generates a second spider token), and Nyx Weaver (reach/self mill/reanimate). The deck then adds a number of mid-game threats including Penumbra Spider (generates spider token), Skyfisher Spider (removal/life gain), Rotwidow Pack (spider tokens/drain) and Arasta (spider tokens). The deck then features the incredibly powerful finisher Shelob, printed in the Lord of the Rings set which gives your entire spider army deathtouch, Ward 2, and will effectively mass reanimate your opponent's army when killed by your spiders.
