MUST-READ IMPORTANT PARAMETERS
FORCE/PRESSURE:40Lb Per Strut;80 Lbs Per Set
DIMENSION :Ext. Length: 20 inch (508 mm); Comp. Length: 12inch (305 mm)
RECOMMENDED WEIGHT RANGE:Most suitable support lid weight is 32-45 pounds for ONE PAIR!
NOT APPLICABLE WEIGH: If the lid weight is out of the above range, we have other 20inch series of 20lbs/60lbs/80lbs/100lbs/110lbs for you!
Which Gas Strut Do Need
We step you through The General Rules and The Formula which tell you exactly what Force/Newton and Length you want and then we help you choose brackets.
STEP 1. Measure the length of lid
Distance from the hinge point to the edge of thelid.
The Extended Length of Gas Strut ≈50% of the Lengthof the Lid.
E.G.length of lid is 30inchyou need a15 inch gas strut.
STEP 2. Weigh the lid
First method, unscrew the lid from the hinges and use a scale to weight.
Second method, move the lid to 90 dgree, use a pole and bathroom scale to weigh at the mount point.
Allow the weight of the lid through the pole to show a reading on the scales in Kg.
STEP3. Calculate the pressure
E.G. reading of 20Kg,1KG=10N,so a 20kg lid means that (G) equals 200N.
Ifyou are goingtouse2xstruts onthelid you can halve the amount of pressureineach strut.
We usually recommend a right angle bracket on the lid and a flat bracket within the boxor frame.
Installation Warm Tips:
.Gas Struts Very strong! So you can't compress it with your hands.
.First make sure your lovely lid is within the range that the lovely gas struts fit.
.Then open your lid up to your preferred angle, find the third of the lid and identify the upper and lower mounting points.
.Closing and opening your lid to check if it's what you want.
.If it's too powerful, you can move the upper mounting point closer to the hinge.
