Overview:
The MK52 heated bed has embedded magnets with high curie temperature. These magnets can hold removable spring steel sheets.
The powder coating directly on metal makes it very difficult to damage this building plate. When a heated nozzle hits it, the metal can dissipate heat.
The powder coating also gives the surface a pronounced textured look that is visible on your prints.
The textured surface conceals most of the mechanical damage caused by tools. It can only be scratched on the top of the small bumps that do not emboss on the underside of the model.
Warning:
Never clean the textured PEI powder-coated spring steel sheet with acetone! This creates micro-fractures in the PEI texture, which deteriorates the surface over time.
