The Right Vise Head for Detailed Work The PanaVise 304 low-profile vise head is a specialized work-holding tool accessory designed for detail-oriented work such as jewelry making, watch repair and lapidary. Its shaft diameter is 5/8" (15.9 mm) which makes it compatible with the full product line of PanaVise 300 series bases. Unlike most other vise heads, the shaft of the PanaVise 304 low-profile vise head extends to the side of the vise jaws, instead of from its bottom. When used with a PanaVise 300 series base, which feature 90-degree head tilt functionality, the lateral shaft orientation enables the head to maintain a profile just above the work bench surface. This alignment brings held items closer to the user and makes it easier to position them under magnifying lights commonly used in detail-oriented work.
The vise head is 7-3/4 (196.8 mm) tall, weighs 1.4 lb. (0.6 kg), with a throat depth of 1-3/8" (34.9 mm). Its jaw openings are lined with steel jaw pads, designed to securely hold items in high heat environments. Jaw pads designed for other purposes are also available for additional purchase and are swapped in using two mounting screws.
Compatible with all PanaVise 300 series bases (base, base mount sold separately).
