In 1930, Jesus and Our Blessed Mother appeared to Sister Amalia to reveal the Rosary and Medal of Our Lady of Tears. This rosary is given for our modern times of fierce struggle for the salvation of souls against legions of the enemy. This medal is to increase the humility of the faithful and to serve in a special way for the conversion of atheists, heretics, Communists and, as with the Rosary of Tears, those possessed by the devil. On the medal are represented the virtues of meekness and humility, symbolized by the image of Jesus Ecce Homo, with hands bound, and the inscription, By Thy Divine Meekness, O Jesus Bound, save the world from the error which threatens it. On the other side of the medal, the image of Our Sorrowful Mother, Our Lady of Tears, with the inscription O Virgin Most Sorrowful, thy Tears have destroyed the Infernal Empire. In 1934, Sr Amalia's Bishop, Msgr. Count Franciscus von Campos Barreto, approved the devotion. He gave an Imprimatur to the Rosary of Tears and recommended use of the Medal, saying it had already worked innumerable miracles.
