Pythagoras of Samos is regarded as the world's fist pure mathematician, and was the first man to call himself a philosopher (lover of wisdom). He is credited with the mathematical theory that bears his name, as well as the Theory of Proportions and the discovery that the Earth is round. This wonderful cold cast resin statue depicts Pythagoras at a lectern, with a lyre and globe at his feet, a large book under one arm. The statue has a metallic bronze finish, with hand painted accents to show off the detail.
