The wood of ironwood is very similar to that of ebony; It is very hard and resistant, unlike most of the wood that floats, it sinks in the water. Hence its name of ironwood (Palo Fierro). There may be natural imperfections in the wood, which also adds to the unique character of each piece (the product may vary from the photos the wood color like more dark or less dark, but the form it's the same).
