Description

Gaumukhi Shringi is a ritual vessel for pouring water on the idol of a deity, especially Lord Shiva. Gaumukhi means "cow's mouth" and is related to the glacier of the same name in the Himalayas, which is the source of the Ganges River. It is sacred to anoint the deities with Gaumukhi Shringi. The matka bent slightly at its tip and ended with the head of a cow. It is made of brass and its golden color gives an elegant look to the pot.
