Whether stepping up to the plate at a critical moment with runners on, taking the mound in a tense bases-loaded situation, or simply chasing down a routine flyball, the gameplay is smooth and often gorgeous thanks to new animations in this year's entry. Even the commentary, often one of the most challenging elements for sports games to nail, is top-notch.
