Used with the appropriate crimping device, these connectors are a simple way terminate CAT3 four-conductor telephone wires with a male connector. It work okay both with flat and round phone cables. With the round cables, however, the wires must be properly arranged for correct polarities before inserting them into these connector for crimping. Before making the connection, you need to strip about 1/4" of insulation off of the four wires, ensure that they're properly oriented and inserted into the plug then crimp.
