Full grain leather is leather that hasn't been sanded, buffed, or snuffed to remove imperfections so it will often have natural markings and blemishes and add to each unique piece. As the grain surface is left intact before applying the surface coating, the leather has more fiber strength and durability. It's characteristic is easy to be scratched, a simple scratch or rub turns the leather fibers to a different shade. It looks better as it ages, develops a beautiful patina, which is the change in color over time. This change occurs faster on untreated pieces and is considered to be a highly desirable characteristic of leather. Full grain cow leather is regarded as the strongest and most durable leather, which is why ultimately we choose to use it for many of our bags and accessories.
