This assembly includes a lead-free cast copper silicon alloy body for durability, integral stainless steel strainer, thermoplastic seat cartridge, reinforced diaphragm, thermal expansion bypass, and a sealed spring cage for accessible outdoor or pit installations.
The valve conveniently includes a bypass feature that effectively controls thermal expansion pressure, permitting the flow of water back through the valve into the main when pressures - due to thermal expansion on the outlet side of the valve - exceed the pressure in the main supply.
