Yu Xing Cao (Houttuynia Cordata) is a grassy perennial. Its thin, cord-shaped roots are located horizontally in the surface soil layer. The white rhizomes of Yu Xing Cao give rise to a set of reddish low stems. In height, each stem can reach up to 40 cm. The leaves of Houttuynia Cordata are located quite often in relation to each other, in size and shape similar to linden leaves. They are bright green in color. Yu Xing Cao flowers are bisexual, without perianth, medium-sized. The fruit is a roundish, fleshy capsule. Seeds are round, and numerous. The plant blooms in May and June.
