Rhodiola rosea root has long been used in Europe and Asia as an adaptogen to increase resistance to physical stress. Rhodiola rosea grows most commonly in the cold dry regions of Siberia, China and Alaska. During the cold war Rhodiola Rosea was used by Russian military officers, Olympic athletes, cosmonauts and more for its purported energy, mood and endurance enhancing effects. In one study on stress induced fatigue on night-duty physicians, Rhodiola Rosea was shown to improve the situation.*
