What is an MCOR?
Motor controller output regulator. It takes the place of a potentiometer on a Club Car (actually, there's one in it).
It is connected to the rod from the accelerator pedal, and it basically tells the controller how far you are pushing the pedal down, and how fast the controller should make the motor spin.
Common Issues and Solutions
One of the most common issues with electric Club Car vehicles today is the MCOR, or Motor Controller Output Regulator. The MCOR for sale on this particular listing is the "MCOR 4".
MCOR4 was for Club Car Precedent and Club Car DS golf carts. A failed unit will result in the vehicle not being able to maintain a steady speed. Jerky or hesitant operation will drive you crazy. The internal contacts of the MCOR get corroded and can no longer provide a clean throttle signal to the controller. An MCOR can also fail and keep a vehicle from running entirely. This happens when the internal micro switch fails and does not close when the pedal is depressed. If you have any of these symptoms, this may be the solution to your problem.
