This innovative sensor design enhances low-light performance paving the way UHD 4K video recording. When paired with the BIONZ X image processor, the camera can produce images at sensitivities up to ISO 102,400 and maintain a continuous shooting rate of 5 fps.
  • The updated body of the device, crafted from a durable magnesium alloy, boasts enhanced weather sealing and a sturdy lens mount, making it perfect for use with large lenses. The shutter design has been refined to minimize vibrations, reducing them by approximately 50%. The device now employs an electronic front curtain shutter and is designed for a lifespan of 500,000 cycles. For those situations where silence is golden, the device also offers a silent shooting mode.
  • The key enhancement in video is the in-built UHD 4K 3840 x 2160p recording at 30 or 24 fps using the XAVC S format at 100 Mbps. This can be achieved using either the Super 35 crop mode, without pixel binning, or the full-frame readout.
