This remote has an instant on\off button and will operate up to 40-Feet. Remote comes with canopy receiver. It will control both the light and fan functions (High/Medium/Low fan speed and increase/decrease light). This will work on fans with regular light bulbs ONLY (incandescent) and not CFL (compact fluorescent) bulbs. Uses 2 AAA batteries (battery is not included).
