Pleasantino Goddess Lakshmi (Laxmi) statue an artwork of wood marquetry. Made of more than 35 individual solid wooden parts, affixed on multiple layers of wood to give a 3D look. Each small part is carved out of the Padauk wood, Maple Wood and Boxwood and then hand-assembled in a particular order to make a complete figurine.
Goddess Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. Lakshmi has also been a goddess of abundance and fortune for Buddhists. Lord Lakshmi sitting on a lotus pedestal and holds a lotus in her hand, a symbol for fortune, self-knowledge, and spiritual liberation.
She is the wife and active energy of the great Lord Vishnu. Her four hands represent the four goals of human life considered proper in the Hindu way of life – dharma, kama, artha, and moksha. In Hindu culture, it is believed that anybody who worships Goddess Lakshmi sincerely without any greed, will be blessed with fortune and success. It is said that Lakshmi resides in places of hard work, virtue, and bravery.
