Leica has expanded its renowned optics with the introduction of the Super-APO-Summicron-SL 21mm f/2 ASPH Lens, marking the debut of the first-ever APO lens of this focal length. This lens joins an already distinguished lineup of APO-Summicron-SL lenses, boasting Leica's rapid Dual Synchro Drive autofocus technology. Its wide f/2 aperture combined with a broad angle of view makes it highly versatile, ideal for capturing everything from expansive landscapes to detailed architectural shots, as well as vibrant street scenes and interior spaces. As the pioneering 21mm APO lens, it significantly minimizes chromatic aberrations, delivering images that are not only sharp and clear but also true to color with excellent contrast separation. The lens construction includes three aspherical elements and utilizes low-dispersion glass, enhancing its ability to limit color fringing and align all colors precisely along the same focal plane. The Dual Synchro Drive AF system in the lens ensures a swift and nearly silent autofocus operation, ranging from 0.21m to infinity. This feature, combined with a steady f/2 aperture, enables the creation of striking videos and panoramic images with ease.
