Don't waste money on broken rings ever again. Universal clamp-style compressors don't compress the rings uniformly. This can cause the ring to catch on the cylinder bore and break. A tapered ring compressor creates a uniform surface for the rings to compress against as the piston is installed. It is critical that this surface is smooth and hard to prevent the rings from scraping debris into the cylinder.
