Description
Although Argentina had never fought in an international conflict directly with their aging military aviation, mostly left over from Vietnam, they stepped up to the challenge when they initiated the Falklands War in 1982 and commended for their strategic air defence network against the retalliating British military. The Boeing Chinook CH-47C, the "Super C," operated for both the Argentine Air Force and the Army. The two Chinook CH-47C's were used for general transport duties and operated from Port Stanley Airport once they occupied the British military base as they initiated the war. The AE-520 continued to have engine problems due to consistent engine issues and being the unreliable of the two was left after Argentina surrendered to the UK. It became very useful as they transferred it to UK and used as a ground instuctional airframe and salvaged its remaining parts to repair their Chinooks bringing a new and prolonged life to some impressive war machines.
