Post-surgical, waterproof, garment designed to offer post surgery support. This comfortable shirt allows for bathing and good hygiene after surgery and during dialysis. The shirt is designed to prevent mastectomy drain sites, dialysis catheters and medical-ports from coming into contact with water while showering. The fundamental purpose of the product is to reduce the risk of post-surgical infection while permitting chest surgery patients to shower. Many surgical procedures involve the placement of drains, tubes, ports and catheters which penetrate the skin. This medical paraphernalia can act as a portal for bacteria (contained in tap water) to enter wound sites. Patients are routinely instructed by physicians not to shower until drains, ports and catheters are removed. To facilitate its use, the SHOWER SHIRT protects the sites from water but are also designed with internal pockets and straps to support the weight of mastectomy drain tubes. The neck region is a turtle-neck design lined with micro-fiber, Velcro strap, and drawstring under jaw-line to assure a tight fit across the neck to protect catheters and ports which are normally placed under the collar bone region.
