The Brass Damroo is used primarily in devotional and folk music in India. It is played by holding the instrument in one hand and twisting the wrist quickly back and forth, causing the beads inside to strike the two drum heads. This motion produces a rhythmic, vibrating sound. The speed and force of the twisting motion can be varied to create different rhythms and tones
The Damroo is often used in bhajans (devotional songs), kirtans (religious chants), and folk music performances.
