Special Features

  • Vintage-Inspired Pickup - The '59 neck model is a vintage output humbucker, perfect for rock, blues, and more, offering sweet sustain, and a warm, full sound that still possesses a clear attack.
  • Versatile Humbucker - The '59 neck model is one of our most popular pickups because it's so versatile. The high end is slightly boosted for improved pick-attack clarity and the mids are a little scooped for an open, smooth sound.
  • Modern Compatibility - The '59 neck pickup is designed in the spirit of the original P.A.F. humbuckers of the 1950s, but is compatible with lighter guitar strings and louder amplifiers than were ever used in the 1950s.
  • Traditional Vintage Appointments - The '59 model features a variety of traditional vintage specs, such as 42AWG plain enamel mag wire, long-legged nickel-silver bottom plate, vintage single-conductor braided push back lead wire, and no logo.
  • Made in the USA - The '59 Vintage Output Humbucker Neck Pickup is wound on Seymour's classic Leesona 102 pickup winding machine from the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI.

Description

Seymour Duncan SH-1N '59 Model Neck Humbucker - Nickle Cover. The Seymour Duncan SH1N is a faithful replicant of the 1959 PAF Patent Applied For humbucker, with a smooth and warm tone, with plenty of sustain. The SH1-N uses the same kind of Alnico magnets, plain enameled wire, braided single-conductor cable, nickel plated studs, wooden spacer, black paper tape, and balanced coil windings uses on the original PAF humbuckers. The neck version is warm with just the right amout of bass. These are a direct replacement for your current neck humbucker ensuring the guitar requires no modification. Wiring schematic and mounting screws are included. Single conductor Application: Versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker. Great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. Description: Late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound. Warm and crystalline clean tones. Full and bright distorted tones. Smooth sustain. Classic appointments include plain enamel wire, long legged bottom plate, vintage single conductor cable and no logo. Compared to the SH-55 Seth Lover, the '59 has slightly more scooped mids and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. Guitars: For balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with mahogany bodies and rosewood fingerboards.
