Schott Extra Low Dispersion (ED) Glass: The material used in the manufacturing of the lens elements is a special extra low-dispersion glass that corrects chromatic aberrations. These aberrations can cause discoloration in the image you see through the eyepiece as well as reduced contrast and blurring around the edges of the viewing field. Because the Schott glass lenses reduce or even eliminate these distortions, you'll get much clearer images across the entire visual field
Multi-Coated Glass Elements: To further enhance image quality, the optical elements and Schmidt-Pechan prisms in these binoculars have been treated with a multi-coating to improve light transmission. More light means higher contrast images and more vibrant color reproduction. The lens coating is hydrophobic to prevent water from beading up on the objective lens, too
Rugged Design: The body of these binoculars has a number of features that make them ideal for use off the beaten path. They feature textured thumb grips that make them easier to hold onto and prevents accidental drops. The lens barrels are sealed with O-rings to keep dust, dirt and moisture out, while Nitrogen purging prevents fogging even in extreme temperatures.
