How it works:
1️⃣ The cable's USB-C Female connector has built-in circuitry that tricks your charger into thinking a PD-compatible device is connected.
2️⃣ Using Power Delivery 3.0, the cable requests 20 V from the charger and puts it out on the coaxial/barrel connector.
3️⃣ The laptop-specific plug adapters funnel those 20 V into your computer (which likely expects 18.5~19.5 V, but 20 V is close enough and harmless). Some of the adapters are purely mechanical, whereas others (like the chunky "Dell with chip" one) contain circuitry to trick the laptop into thinking it's an official/genuine AC adapter.
