Soak this pellet with cleaner or gun oil, then push it into barrel (from chamber to muzzle direction), then it's done. These cotton cleaning pellet work very well to clean the barrel of most air rifles without any residues. There is just enough abrasive material to clean out any rust or lead debris, and the overall pellet works well to clean in between the rifling. Compared to the cleaning squares, it absorbs solvent and oil very well.
