The computer version of this classic board game introduces your child to an easy-to-understand game, while it teaches basic skills in recognition and counting. The game includes entertaining features, such as three game boards and animated characters. This game is designed for one to four players. (Ages 4-7)
In this electronic version of the classic board game, kids pick a game piece, spin the spinner and watch their markers hop, skip and jump their way around a circus, zoo or playground-themed game board. The game action is great for young kids. Instead of the computer automatically moving the game piece after the spinner is spun, children manually move their character markers from space to space, a nice exercise in counting and number recognition up to 100. When they land on a chute or ladder, the computer moves them up or down to the correct spot, while showing a humorous vignette about the character's corresponding good or dirty deed. On their way up a ladder, kids might see an animated clip of their character taking a thorn out of a tiger's paw. On their way down a chute they might see their character tickling the fire breather! Along with the three game boards, the Zoo and Circus areas also offer five activities each, all with a focus on logical thinking skills. Children will find maze games, variations on concentration, hide n' seek, counting activities and tennis. In one activity, kids guide their game piece through a maze to help find a baby monkey. In another, they help a clown get ready for his act by giving him the correct number of balloons. There are no levels to the activities but you will find a Parental Options section that lets you adjust whether the game is completed in a short or normal length of time. Testers were enthusiastic about the program. They felt that the extra game boards, animated vignettes and mini-activities add a new dimension to the original game, extending its play value.
