1.Suitable for rimless aquariums. Installation may be limited if there is a cover.
2.Recommended aquarium height: 30cm or more. Minimum aquarium height (without substrate and potential skimmer issues): 21cm.
3.Minimum operating water level: 7cm from the top of the aquarium.
1.Suitable for rimless aquariums. Installation may be limited if there is a cover.
2.Suitable for aquariums of all heights.
3.Minimum operating water level: 22cm from the top of the aquarium.
1.Rinse the skimmer with tap water. It may have mold release agents on the surface, which can create a hydrophobic effect and make rotation and adjustment more difficult. If you skip this step, the skimmer may need to be placed in the aquarium for some time before achieving optimal rotation. Don't worry, it is safe.
2.Ensure the inlet pipe is vertical to the ground without any lateral pulling forces. Additionally, the stainless steel pipe should be parallel to the side of the aquarium. If the side is stressed due to the filter hose, use the included suction cup clips to secure the hose.
3.Rotate the flow adjustment valve at the bottom of the inlet pipe to reduce the inflow at the lower grid, increasing the suction power of the skimmer at the top.
4.Gently press the skimmer to allow water to flow through the grid. When you release your finger, the water flow should enter the grid. If there is no flow, try further reducing the inflow at the bottom or increasing the filter pump power.
5.If there is no water flow through the skimmer after step 3, it indicates insufficient pump power. Consider replacing the pump with a higher power model or lowering the water level. Since parameters like filter pipe setup and pump height vary between aquariums, we cannot specify the minimum pump power needed, but we ensure that most mainstream filter canisters and pumps can drive the skimmer effectively, often with plenty of extra capacity.
6.If after completing all the above steps, water flows through the skimmer grid but the skimmer does not rotate, consider re-adjusting step 2. You can loosen the screws of the holder, hold the end of the stainless steel pipe, and try different positions and fine adjustments. If rotation conditions are met, then tighten the screws.
7.Monitor closely during the first 30 minutes to avoid the intake of organisms due to anomalies.
If the skimmer does not rotate but water flows through the grid, it indicates that the skimmer is operational and can effectively remove surface oil from the aquarium. You may contact us for assistance and advice on adjustments.
1.The connection part of the skimmer model has welding marks and is not rust.
2.This device is not suitable for juvenile fish.
3.Be cautious of organisms being sucked in while adjusting the skimmer.
