Description

Born in Okayama in 1884, Yumeji Takehisa is a Japanese poet and painter, known foremost for his Nihonga illustrations of bijin, beautiful women and girls. He also designed a wide range of items, from magazine covers and advertisements to everyday items such as chiyogami paper, letter paper, envelopes, fans, half-collars, and yukata, and was a prominent figure in the world of commercial art and publishing.
