Description

Installation Attention:
Step 1:
Prior to removing the original pivot, carefully observe its position and orientation. The pivot has a curved section and a flat section.
Failure to align the curved section of your new throttle pivot with the corresponding section of the original factory pivot could lead to an upside-down installation.
If installed incorrectly, the long rod connecting to the injection pump will be at an improper angle, necessitating reinstallation of the throttle pivot in the correct orientation.

Step 2:
To simplify the installation of the bottom (left) bolt, consider loosening the coolant pipe from the firewall first (typically secured by an 8mm bolt from the factory).
Using wobble extensions and/or wobble sockets, along with wrapping a bit of paper towel around the 8mm bolt during installation (to prevent dropping), can be helpful.
Once the throttle pivot bolts are in place, you can retighten the coolant pipe. Remember, there's no need to excessively tighten the two 8mm bolts connecting the pivot to the firewall.
Snug and secure is sufficient. These bolts don't require excessive force.

Step 3:
When attaching the pedal linkage to the ball joint on the throttle pivot assembly, use channel lock pliers to provide support.
Avoid attempting to press it in without supporting the backside with the pliers or your finger, as this can place undue stress on the pivot assembly.
If you need to remove the linkage from the throttle pivot assembly for maintenance, a gentle pry with wire cutters (dikes) behind the linkage will suffice.
