Special Features

  • HANDMADE IN SPAIN: Meinl Artisan Edition Cajons are hand-crafted masterpieces built in Spain by renown luthier Jose 'Pepote' Hernandez Diaz; no big assembly lines here—only highly skilled small batch construction with the finest wood selections
  • WHY IT MATTERS: Pepote is a master cajon craftsman; he's tested countless wood combinations and varnishes, created a special unbreakable snare string, designed baffles and pop filters—the list goes on; everything he does revolves around chasing the best
  • TONEWOODS USED: a 9-ply Baltic birch body and mongoy frontplate deliver rich, punchy, and balanced tone; Buleria Line Artisan Cajons are also equipped with a curved Baltic birch baffle by the sound port for deeper bass notes
  • DRIVING THE SNARE SOUND: spanning the frontplate inside are two adjustable sets of five custom, hand wound micro-coiled steel cajon strings for a beautifully lush snare tone; includes hex key to tighten/loosen the strings which alters snare response
  • ZOOM IN: the cajon is rounded at the corners and sanded down to form thumb notches where your hands lay in their natural playing position; this gives you exceptional hand contact with more comfort
  • LOOKING UNDERNEATH: four silicone feet keep the cajon stable on any surface (wood, laminate, carpet, brick, concrete); these feet protect the cajon while eliminating vibrations to preserve the instrument's crystal-clear sound quality
  • BY THE NUMBERS: 11 1/4" W x 11 3/4" D x 19" H
  • THE TAKEAWAY: this is a special handcrafted cajon made to be appreciated for its details all around—sound, feel, response, look, and durability; there's no doubt it will serve you your entire life

Description

Adjustable metal micro-coiled Cajon strings on the Bulimia line allow you to dial-in your desired level of string sensitivity for different snare effects. Two groupings of five strings span across the inside of the playing surface to deliver a crisp snare sound. These strings are hand wound in the style of master Cajon builder, José "Peyote" Hernández Diaz, and each set is adjustable with the included key. The 9-ply, 12mm thick Baltic Birch resonating body develops the sound into a full, punchy tone that projects with clarity and warmth. Inside the Bulimia line of Cajon is a special bass reflex system that enhances low end notes for a deeper bass sound. Available in Lava-Burl or Mongo finishes. Made in Spain.
