WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THE SAFE ZONE?: The Fret Crowning S-File's patent pending Safe Zone innovation prevents you from overfiling. At the top of the file, there is a small strip where there are no diamonds. Once you perfectly sculpt and round both sides of the frets, the S-File stops filing and skates on top of the fret. The premium diamonds make both fast and precision filing. Whether you are a seasoned tech or new to fret crowing, it reduces the learning curve from weeks to hours.
The Fret Crowning S-File's 240 premium diamond coating is perfectly rounded to closely match the original radius of your frets. One channel is for narrow/medium frets and the other is for wide/jumbo frets. It works amazing for crowning the most popular & widely used fret wire material, Nickel Silver, found on all Acoustic Guitars, Banjos, Ukuleles and most Electric & Bass Guitars. As with any file, using on Stainless Steel fret wire will shorten the file life.
Our comfortable, heavy, ergonomic Fret Crowning S-File handle design makes such a big difference. It starts with our innovative blue silicone comfort grip that reduces hand fatigue. The offset design provides both added leverage when filing and allows you to clear the guitar body when filing over it. The Fret End Dressing E-File is the perfect solution to fix fret sprout & sharp fret ends by deburring, shaping, smoothing and rounding. Unlike common toothed fret end files, our exclusive design features medical grade stainless steel with a 280 grit Diamond Coated cutting surface that allows for even, smooth and precise filing that both cuts and polishes simultaneously.
We designed the Fret End E-File with two types of non-marring safe edges to enhance functionality. One safe edge is perfectly flat and polished smooth. The other safe edge (identified with an arrow on the handle) is slightly radiused and polished smooth. In addition, all four corners are slightly rounded to avoid damage to the fretboard.
The Fret End E-File's handle is well balanced & user-centered ergonomics are like no other. It features a double row of thumb and finger grips with smooth transitions to naturally fit in your hand.
