The Kenko Variable ND-W is a variable ND filter that allows you to control the amount of light reduction by rotating the front frame.
It can be used in a wide range of situations, such as exposure control in video shooting and slow shutter speed control in still photography.
The unique design minimizes the X-shaped pattern that rarely occur when adjusting the amount of light reduction, and has succeeded in extending the practical range at wide angles, which has been a problem with variable ND filters in the past. As a result, when using a focal length of 24mm (*1), it can be used from ND2.5 to a maximum of ND128 equivalent. (*2)
The number of light reduction is indicated on the side of the frame in terms of the number of aperture steps, allowing you to quickly set the ND density you need.

(*1) Equivalent to full size format.
(*2) Max ND128 equivalent is recommended. The light reduction is possible up to around ND1000, but X-shaped pattern and color shifts are more likely to occur.
*The practical range of ND density is only a guide. The practical ND density range is a rough guide and may vary slightly depending on the compatibility of the actual lens used.

■Minimizes X-shaped pattern at wide angles
Unique design successfully extends the usable range at wide-angle. *Recommended to use up to ND2.5-ND128 (2-7 Stops) at 24mm focal length.

■90° range of motion
The movable range of the filter frame is up to 90°, allowing smooth adjustment of the ND density range from min to max.

■Multiple ND effects in a single filter
If want to change the density of the ND filter depending on the scene, you usually have to replace multiple filters, but the variable ND filter allows you to use multiple ND effects with a one filter, making it easy to use.

■Lens cap with the same diameter as the filter can be attached
The Kenko Variable ND-W can be fitted with a lens cap of the same diameter as the filter.

■A convenient adjusting knob is included for video shooting.

■Low reflection Digital Multi-coat Ⅱ (surface reflection 0.6-1%) to suppress excessive flare and ghosting.
