It has two buttons , One on the left and one on the right. You can turn the dot on with one quick press of either button. A long press of either button turns the dot off and The left button increases the dot brightness.The right key reduces the dot brightness.
The dot is daylight bright, dot bright enough for night vision use. A good entry optic for those new to optics.
