Not Self-healing, but a block of high density foam, Foam is good quality and density, It's firm, fully packed and well made. Stops arrows well and for throwing knifes it also works well.
For 25 and 40 pound bows, the 55 penetrates the 2" thick target and protrudes a couple of inches out the back side. The 45 is about the same but protrudes about 1", if you have the more higher pound bow, you can order 2 or more target to put together for use at 40, 50, and 60 yards.
