Note:
If the 5V supplied by the L298N is supplied by another power supply, (i.e. not shared with the microcontroller's power supply) then you need to connect the microcontroller's GND to the module's GND - only then will the logic signals coming from the microcontroller have a reference 0 point. The input pins of the on-board 5v voltage regulator chip and the motor power supply drive terminals conductive.
This module uses L298N as the main driver chip, with strong driving ability, low heat generation, anti-interference ability. The chip is packaged in a 15-pin package.
The main features are: high operating voltage, high operating voltage up to 46V; high output current, instantaneous peak current up to 3A, continuous operating current of 2A; rated power 25W.
Contains two H-bridge high voltage and high current full-bridge driver, can be used to drive DC motors and stepper motors, relay coils and other loads.
An external detection resistor can be connected to feed the change back to the control circuit.
The chip can drive a two-phase stepper motor or four-phase stepper motor, but also can drive two DC motors.
