The An-225 transport aircraft (Russian/Ukrainian: Ан-225, code name: Мрія, English: An-225 Mriya, translation: Miriam/Fantasy; NATO code name: Cossack), is a very large military transport aircraft developed by the Antonov Design Bureau of the former Soviet Union.
The An-225 transport has a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tons, a maximum cargo hold of 250 tons, a maximum top fuselage load of 200 tons, a fuselage length of 84 meters and a wingspan of 88.4 meters. Since its birth, the An-225 transport aircraft has been brushing itself and setting new world records in terms of load capacity and takeoff weight, with a total of 250 before and after, many of which have remained unbroken. The giant aircraft was developed to transport large space equipment, such as rocket parts and space shuttle parts, and could carry the Space Shuttle Tempest on its top.
On March 4, 2022, it was destroyed at Gostomeli Airport, Ukraine, due to war.
