Order of the Eastern Star is a мasonic organization, which is considered predominantly female. This is the largest alliance with certain goals - charity, brotherhood, education, and research.

The emblem of the Order is a five-pointed star that represents the star of Bethlehem and is turned with its white ray down to the manger.

The letters F A T A T in the central pentagon mean "Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely", which is the reference to Song of Solomon.

Each ray is painted in a certain color and bears the symbols that correspond to the lessons of the character taught in the Order, inspired by the stories of the life of biblical female figures:

Martha (green, broken column) represents the dignity of endurance in court.
Electa (red, bowl) is the power of stamina of persecution,
Adah (blue, sword and veil) is the virtue of obedience to duty,
Ruth (yellow, a bunch of barley) is the dignity of religious principles,
Esther (white, crown and scepter) is the dignity of loyalty.
